Rotary Has Heart – 2014

Rotary-has-heartAt our meeting on Feb. 13, we will participate in a Zone-wide initiative called “Rotary Has Heart”, which is bringing focus on hungry children. The Sea Pines Country Club is partnering with us by preparing a lighter lunch that day and charging our Club only a very small fee instead of our regular fee. We will then donate the difference between the SPCC charge for the day’s attendance and what each of our 146 members pays for a weekly lunch, (we estimate a total donation of about $1400). The Board voted at it’s meeting this week to make that donation to the Children’s Center for their daily meal program. You’ll hear more about the program from Paul Walter at future meetings. When you see Greg Clark and his managers, please thank them for their generosity and participation . Again they go above and beyond.

Rotary Has Heart Donation
Our “leaner lunch” last week was most delicious, and enjoyed by all.  Our thanks again to SPCC for partnering with us on Rotary Has Heart Day to help feed hungry children.  Shown here with Ward Kirby, Bill Harkins, and Paul Walter is Tonya Jenkins, HHI Site Director for The Children’s Center, accepting our donation of $1794 for their daily food program.
