This starts one of the best weeks on HHI - the week of our RBC Heritage Golf Tournament sponsored by Boeing. It's also a week where our members are actively volunteering to serve the tournament and to raise funds which feed our Club's scholarship program. Our services are critically important to the management of the tournament-so it's time to pick your preferred task and time.
Every Rotarian is requested to volunteer for at least 7-1/2 hours during the 7 days of Heritage. Bus shifts are 2-1/2 hours each; one fore caddy shift counts as 5 hours, Will Call shifts are 4 hours. In return for your service, you will receive one free pass for any day of the tournament for every 7-1/2 hours of volunteering.
What is a Forecaddie?? You stand on designated fairways on the course during the Pro-Am events to help spot the balls in play. It’s outside, and you get to watch all the golfers play as they pass you by. If you love watching golf, this is the job for you.
What is a Bus Greeter?? You give a brief presentation to the attendees riding the buses from the parking lot at Honey Horn to the tournament grounds to welcome them and tell them information relating to that day’s activities. There is a guide for what to say, but you are free to use your own style to share the information. It’s inside, you can sit, and you get to share your Rotary spirit with excited people coming to see great golf.
